Symptoma Of A Bad Or Failing Oil Cooler
Decreased Performance

If the oil cooler is failing in your vehicle, the first thing you'll notice is decreased performance from the engine. This shows up in the form of slower acceleration and a lower possible top speed.

Black Smoke

Smoke is another prominent sign as damage to the cooler may actually cause oil to leak out of the engine and into the combustion chambers. This will cause a thick, black, noxious smoke to come out of the exhausts.

Distended Radiator

A distended radiator is the only sure sign of damage to the oil cooler. If a radiator has been stressed beyond factory specifications, this can cause the structure to bend and warp and worse cause the fins to burst out and look like teeth coming out of the face of the radiator.

How to Install Engine Oil Coolers
Step One _?be sure that you have all necessary parts and accessories for the oil cooler kit, and remove the existing oil filter from the engine and drain the oil pan of all of its oil.

Step Two _?Locate and Remove the Existing Oil Cooler, Prepare the Frame for Its First Oil Cooler. Attach the new cooler to the body of the car, using socket wrench to securely tighten the bolts.

Step Three _?Replace the Oil Filter and Motor Oil, check the oil level of the car, as the addition of the oil cooler may require additional oil to reach the __ull_?level.
